OXPS or OpenXPS is a standardized format that has identical features and functions with XPS, but represents an open format. OXPS files can be created using Microsoft XPS Document Writer, which is included in the Microsoft Office pack attached to the Windows 8 operating system. The OXPS extension is recognized by most recent version of Microsoft Word, but is less popular than XPS. Both formats can include documents that contain text, images, graphs or other types of visual data, and they are used for similar purposes as PDF.
